Human Resources Generalist

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist for Savino Del Bene USA, Inc. provides support to the HR department such as administration of HR best practices, communication, and new and existing HR initiatives. Maintain general knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations affecting HR functions. Must possess excellent organization, communication, customer facing and multi-tasking skills. This position will strongly be geared toward assisting with payroll, benefits, and full-life cycle recruiting. This position reports directly to the Head of HR for North America.

Essential job functions and responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers throughout the organization
  • Help with payroll communication, data collection, and processing
  • Gather HR data for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and partner with HR Leadership to improve metrics as needed
  • Help with benefits administration, to include help with open enrollment, employee/manager communications, and problem resolutions
  • Help with FMLA/ADA administration, such as accommodations, interactive processes, etc.
  • Write efficient and effective job descriptions as needed
  • Ensure all Federal, State and City requirements are in place and updated as needed
  • Partner with Payroll & Benefits Manager as needed for Benefit communication and related programs
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Help with job postings, interviewing applicants, and recruiting vendor management
  • Assist with employee complaints/concerns
  • Coordinate, conduct and assist with training for employees and managers
  • Process state claims such as social security wage information reporting
  • Continuous follow up on document completion, electronic file organization
  • Assist with workman's comp claims
  • Support managers with solutions to basic HR related concerns
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Must be able to work on-site, this is not a remote role
Requirements

Qualifications Needed
  • 2-3 years Human Resources Generalist, preferably with direct experience working in payroll, benefits, and/or recruiting
  • Experience using HRIS systems; UKG Workforce Ready preferable
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to effectively create and maintain trust with leaders and employees throughout the organization
  • Strong appreciation for global Company culture and ability to adapt
  • Must be able to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
  • High school Diploma required; Bachelors strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally (less than 20%)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word
Additional desired qualifications
  • SHRM Certification desired (PHR, SHRM-CP)
  • Experience with multi-site and multi-state, strongly preferred
