POSITION SUMMARY (Purpose of Position)
  • Design and develop equipment and machinery that use both electrical and mechanical technology.
  • Interact with Production, Purchasing, and Logistic department during the project development phase.
  • Use CAD Systems to create, maintain, modify, and review technical drawings, and ensure drawings and designs adhere to established specifications and standards.
  • Design new products and improve existing ones.
JOB SPECIFICATION (Qualifications)

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / SPECIAL TRAINING:
Engineering degree (BEng, MEng or EEng) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school in engineering, manufacturing and/or quality assurance or related field.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 10 + years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • 3 - 5 years in using 2D & 3D CAD Software. Solid Works is a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in prototyping electromechanical systems, including DC motors, Actuators, Mechanical Linkages.
  • Experience in product validation, DV, PV and APQP process.
  • Experience in working with DFMEA, PFMEA and Control Plan
  • Experience in Robotics and Automation is a plus.
OTHER:
  • Computer skills; General business software (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point, etc.)
  • Demonstrated Communication skills (verbal, technical writing, and presentation)
  • Demonstrated Analytical, Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills
JOB FUNCTIONS (Fundamental job duties)
  • Design and develop new products based on Product Manager requirement using electrical or mechanical MVPs, for idealization phase.
  • Create Requirements document and lead development of the mechanical and electronic products with the internal team or external supplier.
  • Test performance of electromechanical assemblies, using testing such as vibration, cycle testing, temperature testing and using instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, or bridges.
  • Install or program computer hardware or machine or instrumentation software in microprocessor-based systems.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
  • Root cause analysis in electromechanical components.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to existing products and processes (more cost efficient, reliable, functional, etc.)
  • Stay updated with market demands, customers, competitors, new technologies and materials, and industry developments to identify potential new product opportunities.
  • Initiate, implement, and monitor.
    • Work in conjunction with manufacturing and other related departments
    • Assist in new product solutions.
    • Assist with product installation/operation instruction design.
  • Work with R&D department to ensure drawings and products meet engineering standards.
  • Record, document and organize all work and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as may be required.
