Purpose of Position

The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis is a key member of the finance leadership team with primary responsibility for financial planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis. Directs the development of the 10-year business plan and leads the weekly forecasting process, provides financial oversight of all operating segments of the business, and serves as liaison to NetJets FP&A and Business Insights & Analytics teams. The incumbent will work closely with the CFO to develop and refine business strategy and be responsible for leading the requisite analysis and reporting for effective implementation. Leads a team of dedicated finance professionals and partners with EJM's Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members to execute plans and refine methodologies.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Direct the development of the 10-Year plan and related presentation package. Responsible for compiling, monitoring, and analyzing the annual budget for each of the years in the plan. Provide direction for the design and maintenance of complex budget models and the development of supporting analyses and materials. Help in the identification of risks and opportunities to enable decision making and plan development.
  • Oversee the preparation, analysis and presentation of operating and departmental forecasts and budgets. Act as partner and advisor to EJM's functional and senior management leaders across the organization. Understand constituent needs/issues and develop actionable reporting tools, processes, and work-product. Proactively monitor trends to identify risks and opportunities across key expense categories. Establish benchmarks to assist leadership in managing the fiscal discipline of their functions. Drive operational improvement and cost containment efforts across the company.
  • Direct the preparation, analysis and presentation of operating forecasts and budgets to full managed owners. Develop strategies to automate reporting and ensure accuracy to provide reporting to 100% of full managed clients.
  • Partner with accounting leadership to manage the monthly close for EJM. Review financial statements for accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAP and EJM financial controls. Provide detailed reporting to senior management.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor staff including hiring, training, and performance appraisals. Execute team leadership by selecting the right talent and focusing priorities and performance. As required, lead team through delineation of process steps and development of schedules to meet time constraints.
