Job responsibilities

•Generates opportunities to expand new & existing client base. •Converts identified opportunities into new business by researching prospective customers to assess engagement strategies and conduct targeted outreach. •Analyzes complex account and industry activity in collaboration with Business Intelligence (BI), to develop plans for a portfolio of accounts for specific market segments and monitors factors within accounts to develop a strategy for engagement to capitalize on opportunities. •Generates and analyzes reports to manage Account Development metrics and KPIs. •Initiates and manages effective relationships with active and prospect clients to determine near and future clinical development needs; includes prioritizing accounts, engagement pathways and ongoing nurturing objectives. •Collaborates with business leads and cross-functional commercial partners to achieve and maintain knowledge of current and future offerings, solutions, intellectual property, etc., to succeed in this competitive outsourced market. •Works to understand the current business footprint and client map, including revenues, nature of engagements, scope of offering, existing relationships, potential opportunities, etc. •Delivers the Company's messaging on differentiators, capabilities, and experience through effective communication with potential customers; conducts discussions with internal and external decision-makers that help advance engagement and sale. •Documents and monitors progress in Salesforce [Customer Relationship Management software (CRM)], including lead research details, tracking contacts, and relevant follow-up information. •Schedules and manages well-planned meetings with efficiency and ensure objectives are met. •Actively research, synthesize, and communicate current trends and changes in our industry.

Qualifications - External

What we're looking for

•Bachelor's degree in a biological science, business, or related field plus a minimum of 7 years of experience in Business Development, Lead Generation/Prospecting, Customer Relationship development and management. An equivalent combination of education and relevant business experience may be considered. •Proven track record of successful sales experience is highly desirable. •Self-prospector and the ability to close business deals desirable as this role will evolve. •Experience with developing & executing successful sales & prospecting strategies is desirable. •Knowledge of commercial business of Biopharmaceuticals or related commercial industry desirable, along with being both internal team & external prospect & customer facing. •CRM (Salesforce) skills in managing a customer relationship database beneficial. Comfortable using AI tools. •Experience with LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, and other prospecting tools would be desirable. •Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, interpersonal, and organizational skills •Must demonstrate high enthusiasm, passion, natural competitiveness, & a strong desire to succeed. •Being a self-starter and resourceful is necessary to perform this job successfully. •Must possess excellent perception & problem-solving skills and quickly recognize opportunities. •Must have a strategic mindset and a strategic client partner. •Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills and be detail oriented. •Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) •Demonstrate the desire and aptitude to present in small, significant internal and external groups. •Demonstrate the capacity to identify critical elements of an issue or problem and the ability to articulate to a wide range of client opportunities and potential implications. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $140,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
