Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Innovation - Know your consumer, be abreast of competition and technology, industry standards and regulation. Identify, develop, and execute New Product Development projects that overcome complex customer/consumer needs. Be informed of IP development and management. Innovate and continually strive to bring first to market solutions.
  • Subject Matter Expert - Understand our consumers and customers, develop innovative air quality solutions that meet their needs. Apply NPD process and philosophies through the entire development project from conception through product launch and objectively determine the maturity level of a design and project. Apply technical knowledge and engineering principles to conceptualize design and realize their potential. Be effective in applying the necessary tools like Prototyping, DFMEA, DVP&R, Computer aided simulation (CFD, FEA, etc.), Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) to create robust designs. Choose appropriate action and alternatives with rationale based on facts, constraints, and predicted consequences.
  • Leadership - Effectively lead and motivate cross function teams to work toward accomplishing project objectives. Be accountable and lead by example making and meeting project milestones and deliverables. Challenge yourself and your team to be innovative, take moderate risks to overcome project obstacles. Provide options, scenarios, and recommendations to overcome obstacles. Lead brainstorming discussions, Innovation sessions, Design reviews to ensure product reliability. Resolve project conflicts, speak up and raise concern in global and regional settings. Effectively communicate deliverables' status, timelines, execution plans, and deviations to the team and various levels of senior leadership. Facilitate decision making and be actively engaged with the project team (project manager, marketing, operations, suppliers, test labs, etc.)
  • Project execution - When applicable, provide direct support to project leader in management of technical deliverables, capital/expense projections. Ensure effective communication between cross functional teams across multiple domestic and international business platforms. Proactively identify, plan, and provide recommendations to overcome technical risks and obstacles. Establish and maintain relationships with senior leadership to align NPD project objectives and mitigate obstacles for project completion. Receive general direction, but exercise discretion as to time management, independently identifying, prioritizing, and delegating tasks.
Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of prior relevant industry experience (consumer product development) is preferred.
  • S. Degree in Engineering required. Advanced Degree in Engineering Discipline desired and/or Business-related degree (MSEM, MBA).
  • Experience leading innovation within the engineering function is preferred.
  • Ability to articulate technical information and provide comprehensive recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage projects and work in a project team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on business priorities.
  • Demonstrate consumer/customer centric mindset.
  • Work under minimal direction and guided by project objectives.
  • Proven experience supporting/leading a wide variety and volume of projects with high complexity.
