Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/Custodian Date Posted: 5/3/2023 Location: District Wide Date Available: ASAP Closing Date: Open Until Filled CUSTODIAN $14.30 - $18.30 Per Hour POSITION SUMMARY At the direction of a school principal, maintenance supervisor, head custodian or department director, supports the educational efforts of our students by maintaining and cleaning district buildings, schools and grounds as assigned. Will be required to provide support for high school graduation and other school and district events, and may be required to work on weekends or on other days, shifts and hours as directed. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Cleans assigned areas of the facility, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Thoroughly mops floors. 2. Maintains outside areas and grounds as needed or directed. 3. Removes trash. 4. Assists with snow removal from walkways and other areas , including salting sidewalks. 5. Performs seasonal work, such as summer deep cleaning and maintenance. 6. Sets up for groups and tears down special events or activities by staff or outside usage. 7. Performs general maintenance and repair tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility and equipment. 8. Sees to the general security of the facility during shift. 9. May be temporarily or permanently reassigned at the discretion of the District. 10. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. POSITION REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING High school graduate or equivalent MINIMUM EXPERIENCE None required SKILL REQUIREMENTS Ability to operate or be trained in the operation of floor scrubber, carpet scrubber, vacuum, shovel snow and pushing cleaning cart GENERAL EXPECTATIONS Is flexible; performs in a consistent manner; takes initiative to complete unassigned tasks; has attention to detail; takes direction; is coachable; is willing to do what is needed; cares about the school and looks after the building; and has a customer service orientation.
