Founding Backend Engineer:

The ideal candidate is/has

  • Strong industry experience with building 0-1/from scratch. Some examples of this: Architecting systems, provisioning infrastructure (Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-code/Terraform, AWS, choosing the right database), building out the services themselves.
  • Knows how to build something quick and dirty, but also knows how to refactor it to best practices when the time is right.
  • They dont necessarily need LLM experience, but they should be interested in it/maybe have dabbled a little on the side.
  • Established opinions on design and architecture (ex: event driven architectures versus traditional rest/grpc, or microservice vs monolith). They should be capable/looking for ownership like jumping in and architecting a new system/data pipelinevery startup minded and ok with ambiguity
