Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager and consultative supervision of the Speech Pathology Practice Manager, this Speech Pathologist is responsible for providing quality care for patients receiving Speech Pathology services, including evaluation, treatment planning, goal setting, treatment implementation, and discharge planning to transition the patient toward maximum independence. The Speech Pathologist plans and provides patient, family, peer and community education, and coordinates services with other health care professionals including interaction with physicians responsible for the care of the patient. The Speech Pathologist documents according to program and professional standards. The Speech Pathologist follows an individualized performance development plan to maintain current and competent in critical areas and support program goals, hospital goals and objectives, hospital functions and philosophy.

Required qualifications:
  • Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Program in Communicative Disorders or Master's Degree: Comparable education (must be ASHA approved).
  • Coursework/Training: Registration for the Clinical Fellowship Year or Clinical Fellowship Year: Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • California Speech Language Pathologist License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • At least 300 clock hours in providing direct patient care. Internships are acceptable to meet this requirement.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in neuro-rehabilitation, dysphagia.
  • 6 months experience in any capacity in an acute care or rehab hospital.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
