DSA is seeking a highly qualified Java Engineer for a full-time position in Charlottesville, VA. This is a hybrid position. Candidate must have an active secret clearance.

DSA supports Army G-2 and NGIC on this contract as the Prime. This is a critical Biometric mission, new technologies, room for career advancement, remote support & flexible schedule. Program supports a critical mission requirement utilizing new technologies (Cloud, AI/Client, Data Science). The supported program is increasing government stakeholders and funding streams so major technical and programmatic growth.

I2AR houses the Biometrically Enabled Watchlist (BEWL), the system of record for storing, maintaining, and providing the warfighter and intelligence analysts an ability to query biometric modalities (fingerprint, iris scan, voice and video) of non-US persons.

The Software Engineer will provide Engineering, Installation, and Operational support. They will support a software suite in an operational and production capable state, create software patches or enhancements, ensure conformance with security scans, resolve system performance issues, track issues in a shared system, investigate defect problem areas, support product demonstrations, support integration events and support testing activities that lead to a successful software release.

Required Qualifications

B.S. in computer science or related major or 2-4 years equivalent experience

3 years' experience in Java web programming, preferably with Spring or Spring boot, using REST/SOAP web services

1 year experience with JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks, HTML, CSS

Familiarity with Linux

Understanding of design patterns relevant to web applications, web services, and utility programs

Ability to support configuration management through use of code control and code reviews

Experience troubleshooting developed code, diagnosing and correcting errors, and working through performance issues

Experience testing and documenting work, writing and maintaining operator instructions

Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills are required

Able to work within an Agile software development environment

Desired Qualifications:

DoD 8570 Baseline Certifications (Security+ CE)
