JOB SUMMARY:

Under direction from the Plant Manager the front end mechanic will be responsible for, but not limited to, overseeing and maintaining repairs and preventative maintenance for tomato plant equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing Front End and other Plant equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Ensure the integrity and proper operation of all Unloading, Sorting, Flume Systems, Add Back Systems, Finishing, Waste Separation/Conveying, Re-man and Citric Acid Equipment.
  • Performing routine walk-throughs to ensure the proper operation of all Front End and associated equipment.
  • Making system add-back and product finisher screen changes under the direction of management.
  • Ensuring conformance to all Plant standard operating procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must posses sound reasoning ability, mechanical knowledge and skills.
  • Must posses the desire and ability to learn.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to work as both part of a team and independently.
  • Must be able to perform physical activity that requires use of your arms, hands, legs, whole body, such as climbing stairs, walking on uneven surfaces, crouching, bending, lifting and pushing.
  • Must exhibit regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Should be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Exposure to hot, wet, humid, dry or windy conditions caused by the weather.
  • Work in high traffic areas; moving bins, pallets with empty drums.
  • Exposure to high levels of noise.

Work Location: Buttonwillow, CA

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Range: $23-$35/hr
