The AR Specialist is responsible for the prompt and accurate application of cash receipts to customer accounts in a manner that reflects the company's vision of working as "One Professional Team."

Pay Rate: Starting at $21.50 per hour

Pay rate is dependent upon education & experience.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

* Reviews transaction validation for general ledger distribution, investigates and corrects errors * Prepares journal entries for approval * Prepares accounts receivable reconciliation daily to ensure daily AR reports agree with the general ledger department activity * Inputs routine entries from branches, payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger that affect accounts receivable, including adjustments, refunds, and employee purchases * Utilizes 3rd party software to facilitate the posting of electronic payments (ACH/wire) and lockbox checks * Verifies and resolves customer account balances via the Credit Department (upon request) * Investigates and resolves differences between cash/lockbox proceeds and bank deposits * Applies cash receipts to proper accounts * Reconciles cash and COD accounts for all branches, including review of cash and COD reports, and identification of problems through communication with parts and Service personnel at branches in order to investigate discrepancies and unapplied cash * Inputs necessary entries once problems have been identified and investigated * Other duties as assigned by manager

Required Education and Experience:

* High School Diploma or GED * 2 years' experience in an accounting environment * 1-3 years administrative/clerical experience * 1-3 years customer service experience

Physical Demands & Competencies:

* Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing * Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing but may require occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds * Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills * Safety & Product Knowledge * 10-key adding machines and calculator * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

Work Environment:

* Noise: Quiet * Indoors
