Able to make appropriate substitutions according to meal satisfaction standards.Prepare "always available menu" as needed and ensure compliance.Maintain the proper serving utensils to assure portion control.Remove soiled patient trays. Assure sanitation of meal carts and food service areas.Maintain Pantry area: Perform first in, first out of stock items. Accurately cover, label and date all food items. Ensure all outdated items are discarded. Accurately document food temperatures. Ensure the pantry is appropriately stocked.Maintain the sanitation procedures and protocols by handwashing and food handling techniques. Clean workstation and equipment after use. Follow all other aspects of proper sanitation using SDS.Maintain courteous, considerate, cooperative, and accurate communication with facility personnel, patients, and families.Other duties as assigned, such as assisting kitchen staff or nursing staff to ensure meal service is timely, and residents have received the proper meal and meal type.Physical and Sensory Requirements:Requires mobility to stand and walk extensively during meal preparation and service. Lifting, carrying trays and boxes, up to 25lbs. Push/Pull Food Hot Boxes up to 50lbs. Bend, stoop for access to carts, food, trays, and other kitchen equipment. Manual dexterity for the use of kitchen utensils and tools. Visuals for reading menus, labels, and directions. Hearing to respond to verbal communications. Taste and Smell to assess food quality, freshness, and adherence to dietary requirements.
