At Longleaf Hospice and Palliative Care, we integrate and address the diverse, seen and unseen needs of patients and their families.As a Hospice Aide, you will perform various services for patients as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and to promote comfort through:Performing personal care needs after given a patient's assignment and attending to his/her requests promptlyMeeting safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properlyGiving personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linens as often as assignedAssisting in dressing and undressing patients as assignedAssisting with patient meals as assignedProviding proper care and observation of patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominenceReporting on patient's condition and significant changes to the assigned supervisory nurseAssisting in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the primary care nurse or therapistOffering and assisting with bedpans and urinalsProviding assistance as assigned with light laundry needsPerforming range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competencyProviding respite for patient's family/caregiver when on-site, as appropriateKeeping patient's living area clean and orderly, as assignedAdhering to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conductRespectful of patient/family/caregiver environment and patient's personal needs Requirements Successful completion of a state established or other training program that meets the requirements of S 484.36(a) and a competency evaluation program, or state licensure program that meets the requirements of S 484.36(b), or a competency evaluation program or state licensure program that meets the requirements of 42 CFR § 484.36(b)Good verbal and written communication and problem solving skillsResponsible valid driver's license; reliable, insured, automobile for making home visits requiredCurrent CPR
