Your work will build on audience needs and user experience research to meet client goals and objectives. The Digital Strategist will support a wide range of content development projects, including content strategy and search engine optimization (SEO). You will create information architecture deliverables such as site maps, content inventories, and governance documents, perform SEO analyses including keyword and gap analyses, and write and update plain language content on federal health websites. The role will require hands-on, nitty gritty planning for Drupal website development and website migrations. You will work with a team and exercise ingenuity and originality in daily problem-solving. This role requires excellent interpersonal relations at all levels, good judgment, initiative in performing assigned tasks, and the ability to complete projects on schedule. What will you be engaged in day-to-day? Ideating on, building and implementing content strategies that communicate and achieve client objectives. Conducting website audits, competitor scans, and audience research to inform content strategy and SEO. Performing information architecture activities such as content audits, resulting in content inventories, sitemaps, and sketches to communicate website organization. Performing ROT analyses to determine which content to migrate, revise, or archive (in line with OMB data management rules and the needs of the client). Developing optimization strategies that increase the IQS’ federal health clients’ websites search engine results rankings. Developing user journeys, personas, and lo-fidelity wireframes to clarify content goals. Creating and documenting taxonomies to categorize content. Conducting SEO and keyword audits, reviews, and content updates as well as providing direction to development teams on SEO website improvements. Working collaboratively and closely with data analytics, UX, and development teams to develop aligned content and SEO strategies and tactics. Working with development teams to support the content strategy of content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress. Writing metadata that follows SEO best practices. Creating clear deliverables and client presentations, summarizing activities, findings and recommendations in plain language. Partnering with IQS’ data strategy team to develop and maintain key performance indicators and measurement plans. Writing plain language website content, including web pages, blog posts and page/meta descriptions. Performing other duties as assigned. Requirements What qualifications will help you succeed? B.S. or B.A. degree, excellent written and oral communication skills, and familiarity with best practices in content strategy, SEO, and web writing. 5 years professional experience as a Digital Strategist, Content Strategist, or other synonymous role. A portfolio of project studies published articles, or web content. Experience developing and implementing content strategies for large sites or large sections of sites. Experience developing and implementing SEO strategies. Experience applying best practices in plain language writing with an emphasis on health literacy. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and content management systems such as Drupal and WordPress. Proven skills in organization, prioritization, attention to detail, follow-through, and follow-up Detailed understanding of the web, as well as the ability to generate fresh ideas for web content enhancements in a fast-paced environment. Solid knowledge of Google Analytics. Technological savvy, and a keen interest in creating clear content that enhances the user experience. Expertise in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required, including all formatting functions essential to proper document form.
