Visitation School seeks a full-time, benefits-eligible (0.6 FTE) Upper School Technology Integration Specialist beginning August 2024. The Upper School Technology Integration Specialist collaborates with appropriate instructional and technical staff to support, manage, and optimize the use of instructional technology and technological resources to support quality teaching and learning. This skilled professional works independently and collaboratively with colleagues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Instructional

Provide guidance and assistance to teachers and students in all divisions to integrate hardware and software technology to enhance: experience and access to subject matter for students in all content areas.

Work collaboratively with faculty and offer recommendations regarding new ideas and different ways of developing transformative lesson plans that integrate the use of technological resources in the classroom experience.

Onboard new Upper School faculty and familiarize them with the school’s LMS, communication platforms, and devices.

Design and implement laptop training in August, as well as throughout the year, for incoming Upper School students.

Create and facilitate digital citizenship awareness lessons for best practice in the Upper School.

Coordinate parent-teacher conferences via an online scheduling system.

Identify, promote, coordinate, and implement appropriate faculty technology professional development opportunities.

Work closely with the Coordinator of Technology Systems to deepen the understanding of instructional needs and student experiences as well as educational considerations related to technology decisions.

Provide ongoing management and support student and teacher needs for the school’s Learning Management System.

Provide leadership to the Upper School's student 1:1 program and assist the Technology Team with ongoing management and implementation of the program.

Along with the Technology Team, respond to assigned user help requests in a timely and prioritized manner.

Attend and actively participate in Upper School Faculty Meetings.

Work with the Dean of Students to identify and support students with disciplinary and student-life concerns related to technology.

Other duties as specified by the supervisor.

Technology Committees

Together with the Coordinator of Technology Systems lead the development, implementation and maintenance of the school-wide technology plan.

Attend and actively participate in all Tech Operating Committee and Tech Steering Committee meetings.

Stay current with advancements within the educational technology realm and provide recommendations for technology decision-making to the Tech Steering Committee.

Research advancements in technology tools and resources to provide recommendations and information for technology decision-making.

Meet to discuss and resolve problems and ensure that technology standards for quality of work are met.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Technology or related field or equivalent experience.

Minimum 3 years of computer experience in a school environment.

Experience in curriculum design and development with technological components

Ability to effectively engage and lead teachers and students in technology-integrated curriculum

Ability to utilize computer hardware and software determined by Technology Department and/or Division Directors

Able to demonstrate and model the philosophies and spirit of Visitation School. “Salesian Spirituality” reflects gentle strength, dignity, patience and Christian humanism.

Preferred:

Advanced degree in Education, Educational Technology or related field.

Valid Minnesota Teaching license

Experience working in Upper School

Experience with Google Workspace, PowerSchool and Schoology.

Experience in a non-profit organization.

Experience in an independent school.
