About This Role:
As the Principal/Senior Full Stack Application Software Engineer, you will lead the technical aspects of software engineering across multiple projects, focusing on software architecture, API development, and ensuring high-quality project delivery in application software. You'll collaborate with a diverse team to create secure, efficient, and user-friendly software solutions.
What You Will Do:
UI Development: Leverage strong expertise in UI technologies like Angular, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and JSP to create visually appealing, responsive user interfaces.
REST API Development: Design and implement RESTful APIs, ensuring comprehensive documentation and adherence to industry standards. Familiarity with Swagger is advantageous.
DevOps Integration: Collaborate with DevOps teams, utilizing tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, and Fortify to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes.
Agile and CI/CD: Embrace Agile methodologies and champion CI/CD best practices and tools to enhance the software development lifecycle.
Secure Coding: Apply secure coding principles, with a focus on web and API security, including authentication, authorization, OAuth, OWASP, OpenID, and SAML. Experience with security tools is beneficial.
Analytical Skills: Demonstrate strong analytical abilities to troubleshoot issues, optimize code, and enhance application performance.
Interpersonal Skills: Communicate effectively within a geographically dispersed team, fostering collaboration and ensuring project success.
Coding Expertise: Utilize coding skills in Java, C++, C#, and related technologies to develop robust software solutions.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
Experience developing software for Class II and Class III Medical Devices is required for the Principal role (IEC 62304).
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
Senior Level requires 5+ years of software development experience OR Principal Level requires 7+ years of development experience PLUS experience leading and/or mentoring a project team. Experience should include creating software development plans and schedules, and translating user needs and system designs into software requirements.
Architectural Design Experience : Strong background in designing and developing any of the following types of solutions: IoT, cloud, web, mobile, cloud-connected applications, and devices. And/or desktop software architecture.
2 + years of experience in Medical Devices or other Safety Critical software or related field. Experience with IEC 62304, FDA design controls, or similar regulatory environments and a familiarity with HIPAA-compliant PaaS and SaaS are ideal.
Familiarity with secure coding practices and experience in secure code development or security tools (OAuth, OWASP, OpenID, and SAML). Experience with Data Management, Data Security, and Cybersecurity within regulated environments a plus.
Agile Project Management experience is a must. Our ideal candidate will be experienced working on and leading agile projects with little to no oversight. CI/CD experience ideal.
Coding Experience and Programming Languages : Experience in some (not all) of the following is ideal: Java, C++, C#, or related technologies. C# or C++ is preferred. (JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go), OpenSource RDBMS, NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS cloud tools, and services.
Preferred Skills:
Extensive experience developing software for Medical Devices , and serving as Lead over junior engineers integrating IoT devices and mobile apps with cloud solutions.
Proficiency in creating test cases using C++, GTest and GMock framework.
Familiarity with sensor and instrumentation integration.
Extensive use of debugging tools, including software debuggers, and electronic diagnostic devices for software development, integration, and troubleshooting.
Cloud Certification a plus
Expertise in integrating Cloud infrastructures with third-party systems (e.g., Netsuite, EHRs, LIMs).
Strong expertise in UI technologies (Angular, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and JSP).
Proficiency in REST API development with knowledge of Swagger.
Hands-on experience with DevOps tools (Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, and Fortify).
