**Job Summary**:
**Job Duties**:

- Acquires knowledge and skills needed for advancement to entry level worker in the work system
- Attends periodic workshops or training sessions to build working knowledge and skills, including theories of rehabilitation, independent living philosophy, and medical and psycho-social aspects
- Collect and record data on patient behavior; crisis intervention as needed
- Gathers intake information and describes the rehabilitation services program
- Explains agency policies and procedures and practices to clients
- Collects or arranges for medical, psychological and/or other examinations as appropriate
- Records information for counselors, psychiatrists and other team members
- Prepares and maintains case files and records using the agency automated information system; documents client and employer contacts
- Confers with supervisor, other staff members, specialist, consultants and members of the rehabilitation team; elevates client problems
- May assist Psychologist or other team members with evaluating or providing post follow-up services
- May participate in group counseling
- Attends team meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Federal and State laws as related to juveniles
- Agency policies and procedures
- Medical and psychology terminology
- Methods, techniques and procedures of psychological therapy

**Selective Preference(s)**:

- Experience in a correctional setting or environment is preferred
- Expanded career path for Youth Corrections Officers within Clinical Services at the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections
- No License required
- Bilingual skills in Spanish/English preferred but not required

**Pre-Employment Requirements**:
REQUIRED: Must have a Degree in Behavioral Health, Social Work or Psychology preferred.

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a comprehensive background investigation, behavioral assessment, and drug screening.

Current State of Arizona employees: In order to be considered for this position, it requires acceptable performance history as demonstrated by not have been issued a letter of suspension or have been involuntarily demoted within one year preceding this job posting close date, and have an overall rating of “meets expectations” or higher on the most recent employee performance evaluation.
