As the Assistant Deputy Director for Budget and Finance, you will report directly to the ADVS Deputy Director, playing a crucial role in the financial services work unit. Job Duties:
**As the Assistant Deputy Director for Budget and Finance you will**:

- Direct the activities of all work units in Financial Services, including accounting, grant administration, payroll, and asset/inventory management.
- Provide leadership, financial management, and executive oversight
- Ensure adherence to the State of Arizona Accounting Manual (SAMM) and compliance with relevant laws, policies, procedures, rules and regulations
- Track and forecast revenues, encumbrances, expenditures and budget capacity for all divisions within the agency, including multiple funding sources.
- Ensure annual budget requests and draw downs of grant funding are timely and accurate
- Oversee the accuracy of payroll
- Participate in budget forecasting for multiple agency funding sources, track budget status, and prepare required budget reports
- Represent the Director and/or Deputy Director as assigned at various meetings and events
- Lead and develop special projects/Initiatives as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

- ARS Title 38 and other state and federal laws, rules, regulations which govern the operations of the Department of Veterans' Services
