Our ideal Operations Coordinator has strong administration and organizational skills and is a savvy wordsmith with a knack for and love of writing great content that educates and inspires. If you’ve ever wanted to learn the different parts of a powerhouse publishing engine, this role is it. You’ll support operations, editorial, and production work, allowing a wide exposure to the different aspects of the publishing process. You’ll be a part of helping our book publishing and book sales operations thrive.

**The Experience You'll Need**
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or related experience strongly preferred. Relevant work experience may substitute
- Two or more years' experience in a customer service, content creation, operations, administrative, or related role
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent communicator and creative thinker with an ability to use data to inform all decisions
- A positive attitude that approaches new situations with curiosity and initiative
- Intermediate knowledge and experience with systems such as: Shopify, and ConvertKit are strongly preferred
- Proven ability to solve problems independently and resourcefully
- Possess project management or related experience

**Operations**
- Manage customer service inquiries and collaborate with warehouse staff to fulfill book orders accurately and efficiently and run point on changes to customer orders.
- Manage and have an intermediate knowledge of Shopify (our e-commerce platform) and run point on updates to products, product copy, and other website modifications.
- Pull and analyze book sales reports (direct, retail, foreign) and make business recommendations to help support driving revenue.
- Be an expert in, and manage ConvertKit (our newsletter platform) to identify new and innovative ways to implement the system to drive subscriber growth and readership.
- Create and implement a social media strategy to support book sales, newsletter releases, subscriptions, and other sales goals.
- Departmental budget and financial reporting support as needed.

**Organization**
- Prepare or facilitate the processing and record keeping of internal request forms, purchase orders, author royalty statements, invoices, warehouse inventory, and vendor payments, and other documentation with professionalism and efficiency. This includes proactively predicting the timing of book reprints and coordination with editorial team for any content changes.
- Organize and record book sales data using multiple sources with care and accuracy.
- Coordinate with other retail outlets, such as the Red Label Store, to maintain appropriate book stock for customer demand.
- Coordinate and schedule in-person and/or virtual meetings, appointments, interviews, etc. with a variety of stakeholders, including company leadership across multiple time-zones; and resolve scheduling conflicts independently and correctly.
- Help organize the transcripts, takeaways, and other records from these interviews and other research for future creative use.
- Assist with the marketing and data tracking of sales efforts for our books, newsletters, and other written assets and communicate findings and recommendations.

**Editorial**
- Perform editorial project tasks including research, data organizing, stylizing, formatting, and copywriting to support the writing and research team with content creation for books, newsletter articles, social media, etc.
