Be part of a groundbreaking organization shaping the future of space operations and national defense. As the Budget Chief, you will work directly for the Chief Financial Officer with the opportunity to lead a team of 20+ financial professionals with regular reporting to the Program Executive Officer and other Senior Material Leaders. As the Budget Chief, you'll develop and monitor financial metrics and shape the financial strategy for a portfolio of unclassified and classified programs You'll have the opportunity to implement change management, streamline decision support, and help program managers advocate for additional funding. With only 5 PEOs within Space System Command, this is a rare leadership opportunity within the U.S. Space Force

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. In-depth knowledge of Congress and Public Affairs.
2. In-depth knowledge of program planning, budget and financial management cycles and policies.
3.Ability to gather, analyze, and present complex facts and develop programming and budgetary strategies.
4. Ability to identify problems, develop and implement innovative detailed strategies to resolve a wide range of programming, budgetary, financial and management issues.
5. Ability to negotiate resolution of complex budget and financial execution issues.
7. Ability to executive complex projects and/or studies within established time constraints.
8. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
9. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals/groups within and outside immediate work unit including field-level representatives.

**Requirements**:
**Conditions of Employment**:

- U.S. Citizenship Required
- This position is on-site and eligible for telework, 4-6 days per period.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.” Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training.
- This is a Financial Management Level (1, 2, or 3) Certified position. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.
- This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). Unless specifically waived by the appropriate component official, the following are statutorily mandated requirements:

- Selectee must be a member of an Acquisition Corps, be able to obtain membership within six months.
- Selectee must execute, as a condition of employment, a written agreement to remain in federal service in this position for at least three years.
- Selectee must meet level 3 certification requirements or be able to meet them within 24 months of assignment (with a waiver).
- This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months.
- PCS and relocation funding are available.
