The City of Pomona Library has an exciting opportunity for a individual with superb customer service skills and a desire to make a difference in their community by maintaining the City of Pomona Library books in proper order and neatly shelved. The Library Page, under supervision, will perform a variety of manual tasks, specifically returning library materials to their proper location in alpha and/or numeric order.

The Library Page is an at-will, hourly part-time position. Work hours will be approximately 15 -20 hours per week. Must be available to work between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and Saturdays 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., as scheduled.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO APPLY**:

- Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:**License or Certificate**- Applicants under 18 years of age will be required to secure a work permit prior to employment.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**:

- Duties include but are not limited to the following:

- Sort, file and shelve library materials to proper locations with a high degree of accuracy;
- Straighten and correct the order of library materials on shelves
- Pick up books and materials lying about on tables and out of shelves;
- Move books and other library materials to new locations;
- Secure materials from closed stack areas
- Retrieve Library materials from the outdoor return box and bring them into the building
- Assist with bringing donated items into the library as needed; and
- Perform related duties as assigned.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to stand for 3 to 5 hours; bend, stoop, lift above your head, and ability to push a cart filled with books.
