**Overview**: Hopewell School is seeking a dedicated and skilled Janitor/Maintenance Technician to join our team. In addition to maintaining cleanliness, you will be responsible for performing minor repairs and painting to ensure our building remains in excellent condition. Your role is crucial in creating a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

**Requirements**:

- All employees must pass a criminal background check conducted by the State of Illinois and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Clean and maintain the interior of our buildings, including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, and walls.
- Disinfect commonly used items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Manage the cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when necessary.
- Remove debris and snow from sidewalks to ensure safe passage.
- Replace air filters and maintain HVAC systems for optimal performance.
- Empty trash and recycling bins promptly and dispose of waste properly.
- Stock and organize supply rooms to ensure the availability of necessary items.
- Perform minor repairs on machinery, equipment, and tools as needed.
- Conduct painting tasks as required to maintain the appearance and integrity of the building.
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors to maintain cleanliness.
- Clean and maintain restrooms to provide a sanitary environment.
- Wash and clean windows and mirrors to ensure a clear view.
- Notify supervisors of any unsafe conditions that require attention.
- Operate floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment effectively.
- Dust furniture and fixtures to maintain a clean and presentable appearance.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Good communication skills to interact with colleagues, staff, and students.
- Knowledge of various cleaning products and their appropriate usage.
- Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces effectively.
- Capability to lift and move objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
- Good organizational skills to manage cleaning and maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners.
- Basic maintenance skills, including the ability to perform minor repairs and painting.
- Excellent time-management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
