Job Functions

The Operations Specialist will play a key role in assisting the Director of Operations by assuring the highest level of safety, health and environmental standards while achieving maximum production and profitability. The Operations Specialist will be responsible for coordinating day to day operations activities for a diverse portfolio of renewable generating facilities including Solar, Wind and Storage under the jurisdiction of many balancing authorities, transmission providers, and scheduling entities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support all power plant operations and maintenance activities across the fleet ensuring safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance while maximizing profits and minimizing expenses.
- Ability to manage all power plant operations across the fleet considering different requirements for each plant depending on location, interconnect agency, regional regulations and customer contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with the Plant Personnel and Interconnect entities to coordinate activities and interaction with scheduling, marketing, and reporting.
- Respond to alarms and malfunctions of power plant operations and take the necessary corrective measures including coordination of corrective actions with on-site personnel, notification of customers, management and interconnection entities.
- Maintain control room log and create work orders in the CMMS system.
- Implement, manage, update and maintain plant procedures, site policies, training programs, safety programs and work practices.
- Subject Matter Expert for O&M software tools including Maximo, MyPV, SCADA, etc.

**Skills**:

- Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.
- Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others
- Ability to work in difficult customer situations
- Available for 24-hour on-call duty to meet customer requirements
- Proficient computer skills using MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, and Outlook
- Experience working with plant systems and computerized maintenance management systems. (Maximo)
- Development of Procedures and Processes.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an operator or in a field technician position or equivalent, preferably in a power plant, factory or switching center.
- Able to demonstrate competent technical knowledge of plant and system processes and experience in operating electrical and SCADA systems.
- Possess knowledge of functional systems interactions and must be able to pay attention to critical elements in a complex and regulated environment
