**Orthotic Fitter / Clinical Assistant**

Summit City Prosthetics & Orthotics, an inimate, family-owned company, is hiring a full-time Orthotic Fitter/Clinical Assistant for the Fort Wayne, Indiana region. Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Athletic Trainers are welcome to apply

The Orthotic Fitter / Clinical Assistant provides on-site customer service and orthotic fittings based on prescribed treatments and recommendations made by the physician. Orthotic Fitters are specifically trained and qualified to provide fitting services and delivery of these products. The Orthotic Fitter is competent to practice orthotics within a scope of practice specific to fitting certain prefabricated and off-the-shelf orthoses that do not require more than minor modification.

**Job Duties**:

- Collaborate with orthotic practitioners in the analysis of the patient’s need for orthotic services.
- Examine and evaluate patient’s needs in relation to disease and functional loss to meet physician prescription.
- Perform fitting and execute minor modifications as necessary.
- Evaluate orthotic device on patient including fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work.
- Instruct patient and treating therapist or nurse in use of prescribed device.
- Participate in educational videos and presentations for referring medical professionals.
- Identify and reconcile problems to ensure patient satisfaction with devices provided.
- Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours in accordance with company policy.
- Enter patient demographic information in computer database.
- Frequent travel to assigned facilities for appointments.
- Develop and maintain rapport with ordering physicians and referral sources in assigned facilities.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Job Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in orthotics a plus, but not a requirement. PTs, OTs, and Athletic Trainers are welcome to apply; we will train the right person.
- Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours in accordance with company policy.
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
- Must be able to commute to designated locations every day.
- Must be willing to learn, assume a flexible schedule, possess excellent communication skills and be a team player with a desire to grow in the healthcare field.
- Knowledge of human anatomy.
- Ability to develop good interpersonal relationships with patients, staff and other healthcare providers and the ability to work with patients in a hospital or office setting.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
