**_
Purpose_**:
To perform general labor in the maintenance, repair and construction of the parks in order to maintain and improve the appearance and quality of the park system.

**_ Job Functions_**:

- Essential_
- Operates heavy equipment, trucks, tractors and landscaping equipment
- Plants and maintains landscaping
- Installs, repairs and paints athletic structures such as fields, goals fences etc
- Installs and maintains playgrounds
- Writes reports such as inspections forms in a timely fashion
- Applies pesticides
- Removes snow from sidewalks, driveways and parking lots
- Performs preventative maintenance on small engine equipment

**_ Other Functions_**:

- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the job
- Assists others as needed

**_ Educational/Training Requirements_**:

- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft software suite to assist in completing inspections and reports
- No previous work experience
- Illinois Pesticide Operators License or ability to obtain within one year
- Valid state of Illinois Driver’s License
- CPR Certified or ability to obtain certification within one year
