As a data scientist, you will get exposure to the entire drug development process and collaborate with bench and computational scientists to develop and execute data solutions to support scientific projects. Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Develop an interface to manage the chemical data registration system, platforms for assay configuration and data capture, synthesis planning, inventory, and experimental tracking.- Develop and implement AI and machine learning models to utilize internal and external experimental data and identify novel drug-like chemical structures.- Collaborate with medicinal chemists and research biologists to develop advanced data analysis strategies, and data visualizations, implement dashboard solutions, and leverage additional technologies for effective data utilization.-
- Collaborating with other scientists, evaluate and adopt proprietary and open-source tools to improve chemoinformatic workflows.- Collaborate with additional Research and Development functions including the Immunology, Translational Biology, Research Operations, and External Innovation groups to identify, design, and execute data-related pipelines, analyses, and visualizations.- Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Desired Education and Skills:
- MS/PhD in Computational Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biomedical/Software Engineering, or related field, plus 1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the biotech/ pharma industry. A background in chemistry and/or chemical informatics is strongly preferred.-
- Advanced programming/ scripting abilities in languages such as R, Python, and SQL. The ability to code in other languages is a plus.- Experience working with scientific platforms such as Schrödinger, CCG, OpenEye, PipelinePilot, as well as modeling software, such as GOLD, OMEGA, MOE, ESMFold, AlphaFold, RoseTTAFold, GROMACS, Amber would be preferred.- Experience with data visualization tools, including R Shiny (strongly preferred), Power BI, and/or Tableau.- Experience working with cloud computing services, database systems, workflow management systems, and development tools in a production environment: AWS, Docker, Nextflow, GitLab, and database technologies.- Experience in programmatically interfacing with the database via APIs, FTPs, or remote servers.- Ability to effectively communicate and work with a multidisciplinary team including chemists, biologists, geneticists, data scientists, and clinical scientists, to complete scientific projects.- Background knowledge in RNA, gene editing, and gene therapy technologies is a strong plus.- Strong team player, excellent communicator, and continuous learner.

LI-Remote

This position is remote. However, you will be expected to work on site at one of Sarepta's facilities in the United States and/or attend Company-sponsored in-person events from time to time.

The targeted salary range for this position is $96,000 - $120,000 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges. The salary offer is commensurate with Sarepta’s compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity.
