The Supply Chain Technician assists with ordering, receiving, stocking, and distribution of all pharmaceuticals and supplies and proactively manages specific aspects of the Charge Master and Drug Inventory Files. This position actively participates in the development and maintenance of department information systems and reports. The Supply Chain Technician continuously monitors stock levels in accordance with established policies, standards, and accrediting and regulatory licensing requirements. This position reports directly to the Pharmacy Operations Supervisor and receives supervision from the Director of Inpatient Pharmacy Operations, the Manager of Pharmacy Operations, and Director of Pharmacy Business Services. This position does not supervise any other position.

**Position Duties**:

- Maintains stock of pharmacy medications, fluids, and supplies
- Monitors pharmacy supply of medications, fluids, and supplies
- Orders pharmacy supplies and fluids based on usage
- Receives medication, fluid, and supply orders and restocks items in appropriate inventory locations in accordance with departmental policies
- Assists with ordering of medications where needed or in the absence of the pharmacy buyer
- Assists ancillary clinics and Phoenix Children’s facilities with ordering of medications, fluids, and supplies
- Returns outdated, recalled, and unused supply to manufacturers and applicable vendors
- Communicates with leadership and staff regarding shortages of medications, fluids, and supplies
- Manages inventory of pharmacy medications, fluids, and supplies
- Monitors expiration dates, rotates stock to limit outdated items, and removes medications from stock prior to expiration.
- Reviews medication recalls and removes recalled items from inventory
- Assists with routine cycle-counts of medications
- Assists with annual pharmacy inventory
- Oversees organization of medication, fluid, and supply storage areas
- Stores items in an orderly fashion
- Maintains appropriate signage in all storage locations
- Communicates changes in storage organization with pharmacy staff
- Collaborates with Pharmacy Buyer regarding medication stock levels and recommendations for ordering, returns, and cost savings
- Facilitates addition of medications and barcodes to billing, pharmacy inventory, and barcode medication administration systems
- Maintains supply chain records including but not limited to: Packing slips, Invoices, and Medication transfer records in accordance with pharmacy policies/procedures and regulatory requirements
- Processes patient specific charges for pharmacy trays (ex: anesthesia, CVOR, Code, etc.)
- Demonstrates and maintains a current knowledge of supply chain processes
- Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
