**Position Summary of the AVP, Learning Science and Innovation**:
The Assistant Vice President, Learning Science and Innovation leads the exploration of continuous improvement in learning models for Bryan University, while serving as a key member of the innovation team. Through examining student success and other relevant data, observing processes and learning environments, and staying abreast of emerging technologies and developments in the field, the AVP, Learning Science and Innovation will recommend new models and provide insights into how to improve current practices that advance student success in online academic settings, as well as skilled trades environments. The AVP, Learning Science and Innovation reports to the Executive Vice President, Learning and Innovation.

**Responsibilities of the AVP, Learning Science and Innovation**:

- Identify areas of opportunity for advancing BU’s learning model across all divisions and units, with attention to technology enabled solutions.
- Responsible for the overall success of the experiential design teams across BU; especially the adoption and implementation of emerging technologies and other innovations.
- Explore and recommend new learning models.
- Assist in the design of new educational products.
- In support of institutional effectiveness, establish regular, systematic evaluation of student success and other relevant learning data.
- In collaboration with the vision and goals of the innovation team, design, execute, and evaluate pilot initiatives.
- Monitor the field regarding new and emerging trends in education and training.
- Read and analyze research and information across multiple disciplines.

**Administrative Duties of the AVP of Learning Science and Innovation**:

- Effectively lead the experiential design directors for all BU units.
- Actively participate in innovation team meetings, strategies, and implementations.
- Assist with process design for the innovation team.

**General Duties of the AVP, Learning Science and Innovation**:

- Run weekly tactical meetings with experiential design directors utilizing the 90io operating system.
- Lead the development of experiential design strategy and planning and translate strategy into tactical execution and operational implementation.
- Embed and drive learning innovations throughout the experiential design teams.

**Requirements of the AVP of Learning Science and Innovation**:

- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree or higher preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of learning theories, practice, and research related to higher education and skills training programs.
- Extensive knowledge of the edtech industry; including emerging uses of Artificial Intelligence.
- 10 years minimum combined work experience in technology, education, or business that includes a minimum of 5 years in management positions.
- Experience with instructional design and development of online learning experiences.
- Experience in managing high performing teams with varied responsibilities preferred.
- Highly proficient computer skills and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated effective analytical skills and goal setting.
- Proven results in achieving company objectives and goals.
- High Emotional Intelligence and strong relationship building skills.
- Exemplary Leadership and Motivational skills.
- Ability to work in a virtual environment using multiple software technologies.
- Ability to sit for six to eight hours.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule at least 40 hours per week.
