**Status: Part-time/seasonal**
**Department: Public Works**

The Village of Schiller Park is seeking qualified applicants to join our Public Works
Department as a Seasonal Maintenance Worker. Seasonal Maintenance Workers work up
to 40 hours per week during the season. Workdays and hours are Monday through Friday
from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Individuals in these positions perform various duties, many of which are normally assigned
to regular maintenance in the off-season. This includes landscape maintenance, debris
removal, facilities maintenance, cleaning and maintenance of Village Infrastructure and
Vehicles.

This opportunity will remain posted until all vacancies are filled. We encourage applicants

**Responsibilities
- Individuals in these positions perform various duties, many of which are normally

assigned to regular maintenance in the off-season.
- This includes landscape maintenance, debris removal, facilities maintenance,

cleaning and maintenance of Village Vehicles.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving

mechanical parts or in outside weather conditions.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, toxic

or caustic chemicals.
**Qualifications:
- Landscape maintenance.
- Debris removal.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for these positions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to follow appropriate safety procedures.
- Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions and translate those
- instructions to the appropriate action(s).- Must possess and maintain a valid IL Driver's License with a good driving record.
- An employee in this classification must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to
- 50 pounds and exert a force of up to 100 pounds.- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,
- color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.- Other necessary physical demands are the dexterity and strength to operate tools

safely and effectively.

**Physical Demands**:
Should be able to lift/carry up to 50 Lbs. and exert a force of up to 100 pounds. If necessary
stand or sit for extended periods of time as needed.

**Benefits and Salary**:
This position is a seasonal hourly position and will be paid in the amount of $16 - 22
(D.O.Q.).

**Hours**:
7:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday. Plus, additional hours at nights and weekends
according to Public Works needs and scheduling.
