**Job Summary**:
As part of the School of Medicine and Public Health's (SMPH) Classroom and AV Services (CAVS), the AV Technician III will be working with faculty, staff, students, and instructors to support and advance Audio Visual (AV) hardware, software, and infrastructure for managed conference rooms, classrooms and learning centers. This position will provide technical support directly for faculty, students and staff engaged in leading-edge medical teaching and instruction in the Interactive Learning Center (ILC) and the Clinical Training and Assessment Center (CTAC). Understanding a variety of telecommunication technologies and delivery systems, and the ability to work with staff AV Engineers to manage AV technology throughout SMPH campus buildings is critical in this position.

**Responsibilities**: Designs, installs, and implements large, highly complex, and non-routine audio-visual (AV) hardware, software, and associated systems. Leads the preparation of rooms, venues, or events with proper AV equipment to ensure proper functionality and security according to client requests and business needs.
- 45% Sets up, installs, upgrades, configures, troubleshoots, adjusts, and connects complex audio, visual, lighting, computer equipment, and peripherals in various environments for events, academic instruction, or meetings according to established requirements and requests
- 10% Assists with the development and scheduling of operational work plans for performance checks and lights adjustments
- 5% Schedules logistics and secures resources for new installations of audio-visual equipment
- 10% Tests, maintains, and provides recommendations for alternative hardware and software options to ensure proper functionality, security requirements, and business needs are met
- 10% Provides consultation and answers questions regarding AV equipment and functionality to individuals and groups based on set material and standards
- 10% Provides faculty support and assist with planning with a variety of technology and education tools with the Clinical Teaching and Assessment Center (CTAC)
- 5% Provides support and assistance related to the flexible Interactive Learning Center (ILC)
- 5% Provides back-up Support with Programming, Installation support and improvements with Crestron and Extron hardware and software, as well as Digital Signage and scheduling with our EMS system

- Experience in a higher education setting
- Knowledge of networked AV systems and Hybrid and Web Conference Solutions

**Work Schedule**:
Schedule is flexible within standard business hours, typically between 7:00am and 5:00pm.

During the training period of this position, it is expected the person will work fully onsite at a campus location. After successful completion of the training period, this position may perform some work remotely at an offsite, non-campus work location.

The starting rate for the position is $28.00/hr but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
