**Responsibilities**

1. Assists in preparation and production of bakery goods, including cakes, brownies, beverages, and other treats.

2. Follows recipes and company guidelines to produce food products of specified flavor, texture, clarity, and color.

3. Sets and Monitors oven temperatures and baking times to ensure proper cooking.

4. Decorates and finishes baked items with glazes, icing, fillings, and toppings.

5. Prevents the spoilage of ingredients through proper storage in designated containers and in designated areas.

6. Manages stock of baking ingredients and supplies, while maintaining inventory levels.

7. Collaborates with other kitchen and support staff to coordinate baking schedules and production.

8. Assists with the preparation and packaging of online orders and catering orders for pickup or delivery through our delivery partners.

9. Adheres to all food handling and safety regulations throughout the kitchen; maintains compliance with applicable health, safety, food handling, and hygiene codes and standards.

10. Assists with unloading, inspection, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies.

11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications/Skills**
- Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of baking techniques and methods.
- Basic math skills for recipe conversions and modifications.
- Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and recipes accurately and efficiently.
- Creativity and artistic skills for decorating baked goods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent time management skills and organization skills to meet production deadlines.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and additional hours as needed.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Formal culinary training or certification from a culinary school is preferred.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (25-50lbs), and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Food handler's permit or certification in food safety and sanitation.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with coworkers and customers.
- Reliable transportation to commute to and from work.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new baking techniques and recipes.

**Your Work Location & Tentative Schedule**:

- Takoma Park, MD; Available to work at least 3-4 days per week
- Tuesdays 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
- Wednesday - Thursday 8am-4pm
- Our Takoma Park, MD location is metro accessible, a couple blocks from the Red Line Takoma metro Stop.
