Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Body Shop Estimator
**Must have extensive knowledge of automotive /commercial truck repair, body work & paint, as well as body shop estimating with strong leadership and communication skills.**
**Must be able to handle insurance claims by accurately estimating repair costs, documenting damages, communicating effectively with insurance adjusters, negotiating fair settlements, adhering to insurance company guidelines, and ensuring timely submission of all required documentation.**
**Skills & Requirements**:
**Must have extensive knowledge of automotive /commercial truck repair, body work & paint, as well as body shop estimating with strong leadership and communication skills.**
**Must be able to handle insurance claims by accurately estimating repair costs, documenting damages, communicating effectively with insurance adjusters, negotiating fair settlements, adhering to insurance company guidelines, and ensuring timely submission of all required documentation.**
- Proficiency in automotive repair and diagnostics
- Technical/mechanical aptitude is a plus.
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of automotive service writing and upselling techniques
- Ability to align shocks, struts, and other suspension components
- Familiarity with transmission systems and related repairs
- Familiarity with parts
- Knowledge of insurance procedures and requirements
- Experience in automotive painting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work product.
- Proficient in the use of estimating software
- Must be efficient and detail oriented with the capability to multitask.
- Must be able to drive/move trucks, valid driver’s license is required.
- Possesses knowledge of automotive industry and various repair options.
- Exhibit’s ability to understand and interpret vehicle terminology.
- Basic computer skills.
- Promotes safe work habits & follows safety policy.
- Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Collision Repair Estimating: 2 years (required)
- Mitchell Estimating Software (preferred)
- UltraMate Body Shop Software (preferred)
**Duties include but not limited to**:
- Assess and estimate the cost of repairs for vehicles in need of bodywork
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair estimates and timelines
- Inform customers about insurance claims processing, repair needs and approximate repair time.
- Communicates information to customers regarding the work provided by the shop.
- Answers service area phones and schedules appointments as needed.
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure accurate assessments and timely completion of repairs Utilize automotive diagnostics to identify issues and recommend appropriate solutions
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, repairs, and customer interactions
- Acts as liaison between customer and vehicle technician.
- Managing paint department.
- Examines vehicles for collision related damage and documents the time and effort required to repair and refinish vehicle to pre-accident condition in accordance with industry standards and insurance company guidelines.
- Prepare all repair estimates with necessary procedural research and documentation.
- Supervise each repair including disbursement of all paperwork, scheduling, monitoring repairs, negotiating repair times, coordinating sublet work and all other aspects of the repair necessary to provide the consumer with the most expeditious and high-quality repair available.
- Prepare and submit all supplemental repairs.
- Promotes safe work habits & follows safety policy.
- Must be dependable, wants to work, be a team player and has a positive attitude and willingness to grow in position along with strong work ethics and commitment to work the hours necessary to accomplish the job duties.
