**About Us**

Old Grove Orange is a group of 25+ small growers in SoCal, dedicated to making the last remaining farms in our region sustainable via partnerships with local school districts. We have been farming for five generations and have two decades of experience serving local students through Farm to School We are here to provide our community with the best fruits and vegetables we can grow, to take care of our land as true land stewards (we're certified organic), and to connect kids with the wonder of nature

**Job Details (Full Time - 40 hours/week)**
- Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day. Willing to work on weekends, but no more than 5 days/week
- Minimum one year commitment, with a three month trial period prior to full time conversion
- **Start date: September 16th, 2024 or as mutually agreed**

**Job Duties**:

- Lead Farm Field Trips for 1-5th graders, Farm Tours for members of the public
- Host Mini Farmers Market assemblies at elementary school sites
- Help with farm events and on-farm programming for Lunch Ladies/Meal Men
- Assist farmers in general farm work - planting, weeding, etc
- Assist farmers in animal care - feeding, cleaning, etc
- Maintain safety procedures and sanitation guidelines

**Requirements**:

- Able to effectively communicate and interact with all customers - especially children
- Able to follow instructions, adopt a proactive approach to tasks, and work well independently
- Maintain a positive attitude and communicate any issues to direct supervisors
- Bilingual - English & Spanish (preferred)
- Experience with farming produce or raising animals (preferred)
- Test negative for Tuberculosis, pass fingerprinting & DOJ background check to work with children

**Education & Experience**:

- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of full time work, preferably in Agriculture or Education

**Compensation**:

- Hourly wage begins at $17/hour, DOE
- **Housing is included** - private room in a shared home with fellow farmer-interpreters; full amenities - kitchen, bathrooms, wi-fi, washer/dryer units, parking, utilities included
