About the Position
- The Business Engagement Manager (BEM) promotes the use of technology and innovative solutions to ensure an excellent experience for customers and to achieve customers’ business initiatives and objectives. The BEM works closely with both OET technical staff and County departments to identify and develop technology solutions that enable business process improvement, enhance operational efficiency and improve customer service. Working closely with departmental leadership, BEMs identify, prioritize and facilitate solutions to both business and technical challenges that departments encounter. Further, BEMs identify, prioritize and facilitate solutions to both business and technical challenges that departments encounter. BEMs enhance communications between customers and OET to smooth information flow and improve relationships. The BEM shepherd’s customer IT issues from inception to customer satisfaction while maintaining focus on the customer experience.

- Seven (7) years' IT experience which includes a high level of IT planning, development and support of technology, of which five (5) years includes experience managing IT projects
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or Public Administration
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

- Master's degree in Business with emphasis in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Public Administration
- IT experience in state or local government, or in criminal justice and/or law enforcement environment
- PMI, COBIT, ITIL and OSO 20000 standards; background in PMI, COBIT, ITIL, and ISO 20000 standards
- Job Contributions
- Develops and manages effective working relationships with County departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be communicated and coordinated
- Builds business cases, and identifies programs to measure benefits, particularly productivity-related, to ensure value is being added consistent with enterprise productivity goals
- Provides consulting support to enterprise customers to maximize technology investments
- Reviews the status of, monitors, and promotes with customers all major projects which are undertaken by any IT function within the enterprise
- Provides support to business owners and external groups in the use of enterprise systems
- Participates in senior management task forces to study and prioritizes specific business issues or new technologies and incorporates them with the strategic technology plan
- Provides a source of specialized expertise that can serve the needs of other IT activities
- Participates in a 7/24 on-call rotation to support the occasional major incident
