JOB SUMMARY As a Field Service Technician, your mission is to deliver top-notch telephone and Internet services to our valued customers. The technician will be responsible for performing residential and business cooper and/or fiber installations, replacements, repairs, and cable rearrangements with a commitment to excellence and professionalism.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

- Installing, disconnecting, reconnecting, and modifying Internet and telephone services.
- Maintaining and splicing copper cables and fiber pigtails.
- Conducting pair identification and tagging.
- Making thorough notations on service orders, trouble tickets, and any documentation to indicate the completion of work and updating records.
- Demonstrating proficiency in universal communication codes.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting basic technical problems or issues.
- Performing customer service duties by: o Greeting customers in their homes while conducting a walk-through.
- Interacting with customers in a professional, courteous manner, especially when responding to escalations and repeated customer concerns.
- Educating the customer regarding equipment and service usage.
- Safely driving a company vehicle between your home, office, warehouse, and worksites with courtesy and adherence to safety standards.
- Cleaning, maintaining, and stocking the vehicle with equipment and materials.
- Participating in ongoing training to stay informed and technically competent.
- Ensure the GRTI Employee Handbook is understood and followed in a consistent and respectful manner.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

- Ability to work in confined spaces, such as a manholes, crawl spaces, and attics.
- Capability to work independently, collaboratively with others, and with mínimal supervision.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, floor plans, and throw sheets.
- Willingness to work through inclement weather conditions.
- Proficiency in using small hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, walk, stand, and reach.
- Competence in operating computers, laptops, and cell phones.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Technical certifications and electronics training are preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Outside Plant, Central Office, and/or Field Services.

Note: Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would enable the applicant to satisfactorily perform and meet the duties required of the position may be considered in meeting the stated minimum requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Must be able to use hands, lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, and crawl.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Requires the ability to speak, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential duties of the job. Must communicate clearly in English.
- Must be able to perform and complete multiple tasks.

EQUIPMENT USED: Utilize tools and equipment common in the telecommunications industry, including OTDR/Light Meter, TBERD, Ethernet Test Set, Toner, etc. Operate computer equipment, such as monitors, printers, and hardware with proficiency in Microsoft Suite and MACC Customer Master.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- A 39 months driving record will be reviewed and assessed. Position requires insurability under GRTI insurer requirements.
- Will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
