PSS Industrial Group is seeking a strong, talented, and motivated individual with the right qualifications to fill the role of Procurement Specialist in our Shared Services headquarters in Houston, Texas. This is a **full-time **exempt position that will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager.

**Role Summary**:
The Entry-Level Procurement Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the procurement team in various activities related to the acquisition of goods and services. (Aprox 250-300 Suppliers in Portfolio.) This position involves learning and implementing procurement processes, assisting in vendor management, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the procurement function. The Entry-Level Procurement Specialist will work under the guidance of senior team members to develop foundational skills in procurement.

**Key Result Areas**:
**Learning and Development**:

- Acquire a solid understanding of procurement principles, policies, and processes.
- Participate in training programs and mentorship to build a strong foundation in procurement practices.

**Process Support**:

- Assist in the execution of procurement processes, including purchase requisitions, supplier evaluations, and purchase order management through company’s ERP system
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of procurement activities.

**Data Management**:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including supplier information, contracts, and purchase orders.
- Assist in analyzing procurement data to support decision-making and process improvement.

**Responsibilities**:
**Vendor Communication**:

- Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and address basic inquiries.
- Assist in building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers.

**Documentation and Reporting**:

- Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and reports.
- Support the generation of basic procurement reports for analysis and review.

**Compliance Support**:

- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in conducting basic risk assessments and contributing to compliance efforts.

**Team Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand procurement needs and contribute to the achievement of departmental goals.
- Provide support to senior team members as needed.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or work equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of procurement processes and principles.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
