The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support the effective and efficient operations of Battery Park City Authority’s (BPCA) Human Resource department. This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

**Essential Duties**:

- Provide administrative support including calendar management to the CHRO as requested
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation; perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
- Answer questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
- Schedule interviews with applicants for all open positions
- Gather new hire paperwork and assist with onboarding process
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits information sessions, on-site and virtual trainings, meetings, and other employee events
- Process all HR department invoices and bills
- Process training requests, e.g., enroll employees in trainings and coordinate payment
- Prepare quarterly demographics reports
- Create new HR forms as needed and update existing forms; post on HRIS and SharePoint
- Update telecommuting schedule daily
- Update organization charts
- Assist with special projects as assigned

**Other Duties**:

- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Education and Experience**:

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-2 year of relevant administrative experience preferred.

**Skills**:

- Go-getter attitude and a true team player; flexible with helping where needed.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with or the ability to learn human resource information system (HRIS)
- Reliable and punctual.
- Strong interest in learning on the job.
