**Position Summary**:
The Host is responsible for providing a great first impression by displaying a friendly demeanor with a bit of southern hospitality - the host will take guests orders for dine in as well as TO GO orders according to COLT GRILL procedures.

**Essential Functions**:

- Displays an outgoing personality with a touch of southern hospitality
- Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service. (Answer with a smile - great trick)
- Manage the flow of Guests into the dinning and bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming Guests if appropriate.
- Tend to special Guest needs and requests; highchairs, etc. “Of course I’d be happy to”
- Observe guest needs throughout dinning experience to ensure they receive HIGH QUALITY service. (i.e. notice if food is untouched, refills, clear dirty dishes)
- Protect establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol control policies.
- Maintain dining room cleanliness by helping clear tables, setting tables, sweeping, dry vacuuming rugs, etc.
- Receive payments by validating credit card charges; accepting currency; calculating and issuing change for DINE IN and TO GO orders.
- Reconcile cash drawers by providing drawer counts each shift
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Must practice safe food and beverage handling and cleanliness at all times
- Able to adhere to schedule and be on time for shifts, training and required meeting.
- Operate and participate effectively in a team environment

**To-Go Functions**:

- Takes accurate orders by telephone or in person, explains menu items and offers appropriate suggestions to Guests.
- Packages up food ensuring accuracy, double checking modifiers
- Uses P.O.S (Point of Sale) system effectively and accurately.

Must accurately handle money, make change and process credit card transactions
