**Job Title: Neighborhood Manager (Staten Island)**

**Reports to: Director of Community and Family Engagement**

**Position Summary**

The **Neighborhood Manager** is responsible for maintaining, deepening, and growing our relationships with parents, families, community-based organizations, community leaders and other local institutions to drive families to LINC programs and ensure our Community Literacy Model is visible and valued at all levels.

Reporting to the **Director of Community and Family Engagement** and working in collaboration with our program team, the **Neighborhood Manager**generates enthusiasm among families and connects them to each other and to early literacy resources and opportunities in support of their children’s literacy development. The role establishes high standards of performance in the recruitment and retention of parents, families and community partnersacross all LINC programs and events. S(he) is passionate about the neighborhood(s) where they mobilize, and commits to understanding the community’s history, culture, challenges and aspirations. This hands-on position helps to build family and community support for our mission while inspiring a small team to do the same. We are looking fora community-builder who is passionate about family and community engagement and organizing with years of experience working in NYC. A problem-solver and creative person is a must as the person needs to identify linkages or collaborations that generate curiosity about our Community Literacy Model.

Ability to travel to assigned neighborhood is expected.

**Responsibilities**
- Establish, maintain, and grow new and existing relationships with parents, families, community leaders and organizations to create community linkages, identify needs and uncover opportunities for collaborations in order to promote LINC’s mission and model
- Manage the Community Engagement Specialist and the Family Engagement Specialist
- Approve timesheets, complete performance evaluations and guide neighborhood team on goal development
- Monitor neighborhood specific deliverables and create work plans for community team to achieve these plans
- Create a sense of belonging and community for our families
- Canvas and outreach in the assigned communities, maintaining database of community partners, and consistently learning about resources and events in the community
- In charge of outreach and recruitment across all programs in the community
- Table at community events and fairs, particularly when relationships can be fostered among parents, families, community leaders, and community organizations
- Participate in Community Board meetings and other meetings related to our work
- Ensure goals are consistently met across the assigned neighborhoods in accordance with our strategic priorities
- Help to increase effectiveness and collaboration among staff and departments
- Collect input from partners, learn the ins and outs of the local landscape, and report back to management and the team
- Ensure LINC’s Literacy Zones are consistently filled with books
- Performs all other job-related activities determined by the Chief Program Officer

**Skills/Qualifications**:
Program delivery experience required
2+ years of community engagement experience in an early education setting
Excellent facilitation, and verbal/written communication
Spanish language or an additional language a plus
Ability to work independently and as a member of a diverse team
Experience working with diverse populations across NYC
Ability to travel to assigned territory
Humor and ‘Can Do” attitude is highly valued
Knowledge of G Suite and Microsoft suite a plus

**Salary Range**: $50K to $60K
