**NWI Clarity Clinic is currently seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our outpatient mental health office in Munster, IN. The applicant will be responsible for a variety of front desk and office operations, such as, but not limited to: answering phone lines, scheduling appointments, aiding clinicians, and assisting with client inquiries. Applicants must have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as a strong work ethic. The applicant must be able to work flexible hours; mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings.**

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

- Create a positive experience for all patients through professional conduct and customer service at the front desks;
- Receive and screen telephone communications ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate destination in a timely fashion;
- At times may need to collect new patient intake documents and ensure they are completed properly;
- Experience utilizing medical office software to check patients in and out, schedule appointments, and collect co-pays and patient balances;
- Accurately schedule appointments with providers through our appointment scheduling system;
- Maintain each patient’s HIPAA rights, and other protections of confidentiality and privacy;
- Work with our electronic health records (EHR) software to create charts, upload, enter and reference patient information. Making demographic and insurance updates as necessary and to make sure patient records are accurate, up to date and complete;
- Ensure prompt, accurate, and efficient handling of documents for filing and scanning: items such as intake documents and patient identification and insurance information;
- Ability to work independently, and as a member of a team.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, with attention to detail;
- Basic knowledge of insurance;
- Must be proficient using a computer and general office equipment;
- Commitment to punctuality and good attendance;
- Good organizational and time management skills;
- Perform a variety of administrative duties in order to ensure smooth running of the clinic.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma/GED required
- 1 year experience within a medical office preferably mental health
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance
- Excellent communication and organizational skills and adaptability is a must
- Knowledge of computer programs and software
- Heavy data entry experience
