Our office is looking for a medical assistant. This is a 30-40 hour position, which requires an energetic, organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Job Purpose:
Helps patients by providing clinical and business office assistance in the office.

Primary Functions:

- Obtains pertinent clinical information including the patient’s complaint, health history, and measurement of vital signs
- Documenting all patient-related communication and interventions in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR)
- Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies
- Performs eye exams, EKG, Spirometry, ear irrigations.
- Performs CLIA-waived lab tests, phlebotomy
- Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results
- Always maintains HIPPA
- Completes referrals
- Check Out and provide appropriate information to patients
- Answering phones and scheduling appointments
- Complete prior authorization for tests
- Processes incoming medical records to appropriate staff
- Phlebotomy
- Answering phones and scheduling appointments
- Scan documents into EHR

Education/Qualifications:

- High School graduate or GED equivalent is required.

- Knowledge of medical terminology and standards of care
- Knowledge of computerized information services (EMR) used in clinical management setting preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commitment to customer service and excellence in healthcare
- Flexibility of scheduled hours
