**Minimum Qualifications**

Seven years of experience* in the provision of domestic or gender-based violence prevention services; the provision of human services, training and education, government, social justice or gender-based advocacy services; or public policy research and development.
OR
One year of permanent service as a Gender Violence Prevention Specialist 1.
- Substitutions: A bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of specialized experience; a master’s degree may substitute for five years of specialized experience; or a Ph.D. may substitute for six years of specialized experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
**Duties Description**

Under the supervision of the Director of Gender-Based Violence Response in the Bureau of Prevention and Programming of the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, the incumbent is responsible for the development and management of projects that support the housing and economic stability of survivors of gender-based violence across the lifespan. The incumbent will work with gender-based violence response system stakeholders to identify needs of survivors and assess the knowledge and the tools that stakeholders have to promote the housing and economic stability of survivors. This will inform OPDV’s development of survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive policy and programming designed to improve New York State’s response to gender-based violence.
Duties include, but may not be limited to:

- Develop and execute action plans designed to accomplish project goals, objectives, and milestones.
- Proactively build a network of stakeholders to inform the project’s work.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to enhance agency understanding of housing and economic stability and to identify the needs of stakeholders to improve the State’s response to survivors.
- Collaboratively consult with OPDV’s senior staff and executive team to inform OPDV’s development of policy and programming initiatives.
- Support the provision of training and technical assistance to stakeholders designed to improve the response to survivors. This includes the development of curricula awareness materials for distribution to target audiences. Primary or co-facilitation of training as needed.
- Prepare written reports on project activities. This includes research of existing housing and economic stability related laws, policies, and practices as well as compiling best practices being implemented.
- Programmatic management of grant programs related to housing and economic stability for survivors.
- Perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities.
- Perform other duties and special projects as required.

**Additional Comments**

NOTE:

- Travel may be required (approximately 10%), including during evening and weekends, depending on mission and assignment.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required, or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.
