The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office is responsible for recording all documents required by law to be made public records. We are the leaders in using the latest technology to serve our community better. Job Contributions- Conduct research and compile monthly reports of data related to the status of Public Records Requests- Process incoming public records requests from the public, media, elected officials, courts, and any individual or group seeking information and documents available under Public Records law- Utilize IT systems to organize and maintain documentation about public records requests and agency responses- Evaluate and provide recommendations directly to management as necessary regarding processes- Provide recommendations for quality improvement regarding public record requests or other areas- Maintain administration of all public records requests for both the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office and the Board of Supervisors’ elections team- Act as a liaison and respond to specific requests by researching, locating, retrieving, and delivering records or information, working in collaboration with other staff (as needed) and legal counsel- Develop and implement procedures, processes, guidelines, and controls to ensure accountability and compliance in meeting statutory public records requirements- Assist and provide information, assistance, and services to the public and employees- Review statutes, policies, procedures, and manuals related to public records law- Maintain and update operating procedures for records storage- Collaborate with units throughout the agency to improve data reliability and integrity- Communicate and interact with customers to provide effective customer service- Perform and coordinate redaction of confidential, exempt, and sensitive information- Prepare written cost estimates in connection with public records requests and invoice customers
