Job Summary:
Job Description Summary: The Help Desk Support Specialist is responsible for providing first-line technical support to Airgas customers. This includes resolving hardware, software, printer, and network-related issues, as well as providing advice and guidance on the use of technology.

**Responsibilities**:

- Must be flexible to work within the core operating hours of 7am-9pm EST
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Provide remote desktop support
- Thoroughly document and track support incidents in the service desk software
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary
- Maintain a high level of customer service and satisfaction
- Stay current with the latest technology and industry developments

**Requirements**:

- At least 1- 3 years of experience in an IT service desk role
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to execute sound judgment when escalating incidents and problems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience in relevant Microsoft technologies, including Windows, Office, Active Directory and basic network concepts
- Experience in relevant Google Applications, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides
- Experience with remote desktop tools
- PC repair and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Strong problem solving abilities with the to execute sound judgment when escalating incidents and problems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred)
- A+ certification or equivalent technical certification (preferred)

**Physical demands**

While this position commonly entails 90-95% sitting and the remaining time standing or walking, the following physical demands could be associated with this position:

- Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time
- Lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds (i.e. a small equipment or office supplies).
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing or reaching (i.e. for cabling).
- Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
- Visual capacity enabling frequent use of computer equipment.
- Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of automated office machinery.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving office machine parts.
- Must be able to work in a smoke-free and drug-free workplace.
