Charleston Dental Associates is seeking new team member to join in providing top-quality cosmetic and general dentistry to patients. You will work alongside a group of passionate and experienced dental professionals committed to providing top-notch care and exceptional customer service to our patients.
**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting surfaces
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and providing patient comfort
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and taking impressions
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care instructions, and preventive measures
- Maintain accurate patient records including treatment plans, progress notes, and medical histories
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
**Skills**:
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and record patient information
- Experience with digital radiography and X-ray processing techniques
- Familiarity with aseptic technique for infection control
- Comfortable working with patients of all ages
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
- X-ray certification
