- Technical leadership and management for OPI data products_
- Create and supervise use of OPI Microsoft SQL Server databases for data warehousing
- Negotiate data sharing and integrations between OPI with other City agencies
- Supervise and advise data architecture across all OPI data repositories
- Oversee codebase and git repository for OPI in Microsoft DevOps
- Provide technical leadership standards for coding, data processing standards (ETL), automated data pipelines and deployment to advanced staff.
- Act as technical lead for OPI and advisor for other agencies
- Develop and manage data science and analytics projects_
- Use advanced algorithms and computation methods to identify errors, issues, and points for City engagement.
- Collaborate with technical staff in BCIT and other agencies for integrations and technical project work.
- Build and support advanced data automation pipelines using service accounts, custom API integrations
- Participate in Broader OPI leadership_
- Scope new and potential new opportunities with other agencies and offices
- Act as key stakeholder in CitiStat initiatives
- Recruit and participate in onboarding for staff for all OPI
- Act as a key stakeholder for interagency and BCIT-related technical planning
- Plan and engage with local citizen groups related to OPI initiatives
- Engage with community and professional groups for feedback, ideation, and education
- Manage Data Fellows program_
- Support the Data Fellows and the government agencies they work with in using data to improve city government services for residents
- Directly manage a team of 2-3 Rotational Data Fellows that will be embedded in other city government agencies
- Host/Lead Data Fellow training sessions in both technical and non-technical areas
- Propose solutions and guide the Data Fellows in building and testing those solutions.
- Help translate the agencies’ operational needs into problem statements or technical specifications that the Data Fellows can work with
- Coordinate with the agencies’ IT staff, the city’s Chief Data Officer, and others in the Baltimore City Office of Information & Technology (BCIT) to ensure data quality, access, and timeliness are sufficient.
