Testing Center Assistant

**Description**:
**Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)**:
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
2. Prepare testing paperwork, supplies and computer stations for scheduled testing assessments. Paperwork includes rules agreements, sign in logs, testing materials and exhibits.
3. Review testing schedule and testing instructions in advance.
4. Compile and evaluate student information before testing to ensure need for testing. Prepare Test Center reports as required.
5. Upload and verify test scores. Troubleshoot basic testing software problems or delivery issues, notifying supervisor when major errors or incorrect data has been identified.
6. Contact and work with global help desk centers to resolve unusual or difficult software testing problems or delivery issues. Prepare for and take certification exams to be eligible/qualified to proctor exams, resolve technical problems, respond to requests for information using reference materials.
7. Maintain a working and updated knowledge of Test Center policies, practices, and procedures.
8. Periodically, travel to and from Waukesha County Jail or the Waukesha County Technical College Waukesha campus to administer exams. To meet Federal Security Standards within the Waukesha County Jail, the Test Center Assistant must pass additional security clearance.
10. Participate in and contribute to assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level.

**Minimum Qualifications**:
**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**:

- Flexible schedule and ability to work days, evenings and Saturdays.
- Thorough knowledge of Business English grammar, spelling, punctuation, office practices, procedures, and equipment
- Ability to type/keyboard at least 35 words per minute.
- Ability to troubleshoot computer desktop problems such as rebooting system, installing and uninstalling software, setting up test workstations, checking printer problems, etc.
- Aptitude for organization, detail, and accuracy; ability to exercise judgment and discretion.
- Ability to compile, organize and maintain data, reports, and records.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of different cultures and backgrounds including employees, students, clients and the general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to meet testing credentials to administer and proctor tests as required and pass federal background check.

**EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:

- High school diploma plus one year of additional coursework in computers or a related field.
- One year of work experience in customer service or in an office environment.

Position Information:

- This position is a Part-time position working up to 27/hours per week. This position is not eligible for benefits. Due to exam vendor requirements the Testing Center Assistant cannot be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program.
