**Position Details**:
**Job Title**:Multilingual Intervention Teacher - At Risk 31a

**Reports To**:Building Principal(s) and Central Office Administration as necessary

**Location**:Elementary - All schools

**FLSA Status**:Exempt

**Union Affiliation**:Howell Education Association

**FTE**:1.0

**Duration**: Ten months; First scheduled teacher report day through last scheduled teacher

report day of the school year

**Salary**:Per HEA Master Agreement

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide academic Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for Multilingual Learner (ML) students, including research-based instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and listening;
- Oversee Elementary ML tutor(s);
- Oversee English Language Development for MLs;
- Participate in supporting access to the curriculum for MLs;
- Collaborate with classroom teachers in using research-based instructional practices for MLs;
- Communicate with children and adults in a manner that is clear, professional, and in an appropriate language and format for the audience;
- Direct students’ activities and correct student behavior, where necessary;
- Perform reporting tasks as required, including data on student eligibility for intervention and student progress;
- Walk/stand for the full scheduled period, with mínimal sitting options. (Note: the teacher may be seated for the full preparations and lunch periods);
- Adhere to all Board and District policies;
- Regular, predictable attendance,
- other duties as assigned and
- Responsibilities in compliance with the HEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsement;
- Must meet appropriate placement guidelines in the area of responsibility.
