**Job Summary**
The **Member Engagement & Chapter Relations Contractor** is responsible for managing members’ first and lasting impressions of the value of their membership or affiliation with ASCP. This is achieved through the development, implementation, and upkeep of programs in which large and/or strategically visible member participation occurs, consistent with membership department goals. The Member Engagement & Chapter Relations Contractor is expected to work 20- 25 hours per week
- which may increase if needed.
This individual must be focused and determined to operate, organize, and execute the logistics of membership programs and execute processes. This individual is someone who takes initiative, is comfortable making decisions in the best interest of the organization and members, is a solid relationship builder, and thrives in a member-facing and member-accountable role.
The Member Engagement & Chapter Relations Contractor implements program management and project management during all phases of assigned membership programs and projects. Examples of programs within the purview of this position include: chapters, online Communities, Ambassadors and What’s My Next?, mentorship, member roundtables, onboarding, and engagement scoring/report cards/year in review. The Member Engagement & Chapter Relation Contractor identifies and operationalizes opportunities for integration among member programs to create strong inter-program and inter-departmental collaborations.
Responsibilities include comprehensive program administration within deadline requirements; attention to detail; working closely with chapter leaders, volunteer groups, and affiliated organizations; and assisting with project details for membership, research, and governance support.
**Essential Functions**
- Committed to the expansion, growth, nourishment, innovation, and quality of the programs under the purview of this role
- Works with members/volunteers to implement and engage members with existing programs, making enhancements and implementing new benefit-rich programs.
- Works alongside marketing, communications, and other teams to define member personas, matching them to the needs, benefits, and programs most likely to meet their expectations of membership and drive value and engagement
- With direction from the Senior Director of Membership, provides operational, process building, project/program management, and governance in support of several Councils/Commissions to administer and complete programs and projects that meet organizational goals.
- Indirectly supports growth and retention of members through skillful program administration.
- Assists with planning and implementation of membership-related programming and events for the Annual Meeting and other events (including live, virtual, recorded).
- Provides support for the annual membership dues renewal process.
- Coordinates member outreach projects.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications/Requirements**
**Educational Background**
- 2-year Associate’s degree in related field such as Business, Marketing, or Project Management, or two to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- **Work Experience **- 3 years’ minimum experience in a program, product, or project management role required. Prior work experience in a member-centric role and/or experience in a non-profit professional society or trade association is a plus.
- **Special Training/Skills**:
- Demonstrable skill in product or project management and planning logistics.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Effective presentation of information and strong verbal language skills for communicating with internal staff and negotiating with external vendors.
- Motivated and able to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to handle self-driven projects efficiently and effectively.
- Adept in working from a hybrid or remote environment while meeting goals and deadlines.
- General office skills essential. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency with client management database program(s) or comparable equivalent is required.
- Ability to establish good relations with all levels of staff and members.
- Diplomacy, time management, prioritization and organization skills, attentiveness, accuracy, and detail-orientation are essential.
- Ability to adapt to constructive feedback and a variable workload to make improvements and function in a deadline-oriented environment.
- **Physical Abilities**:
- Attendance at various volunteer meetings, the ASCP Annual Meeting, and trade shows, either on or off property, are required as assigned.
- Some occasional light lifting.
- Some travel and weekend work required - three to twelve days per year.
