**Ward Clerk - North 2 - Per Diem**
**Position Summary**
The Ward Clerk performs clinical and receptionist duties on assigned unit under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse. He/she also promotes cooperation, a positive attitude and creates a safe environment for both patients and staff. The Ward Clerk is responsible for knowing and adhering to established hospital policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety.
**Duties of a may include the following but are not limited to**:
- Transcribes doctors' orders and accurately communicates this information to appropriate personnel.
- Maintains and updates patient records as delegated by the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse or other Nursing leader.
- Performs clerical functions as needed.
- Assists with telephone calls and channels information to appropriate person.
- Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management.
**Qualifications**

- High School Graduate
- Attention to detail
- Visual and auditory acuity
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Computer knowledge
- Knowledge of medical terminology
